AUTHOR BIO I
was born in Brisbane and except for a few shorts trips away 1 have lived in
southeast Queensland all my life. I am married and have three adult children and
seven grandchildren. I enjoy sewing. I have been a sales person. I'm a fully
qualified herbalist and have learnt many different kinds of massage. I'm
a Reiki Master and enjoy working with the energies of the body via pressure
points and touch for health (kinesiology). I
have been keenly interest in nutrition and a healthy life style since my early
twenties. I also really enjoy soft soothing music. CHAPTER ONE (part
sample)
Age is a
state of mind. You are only as old as you think you are, only as old as you feel
inside yourself. Thoughts are things, thoughts have power. Think young, be young. To control your thoughts is to control your life. If you think you are old, you are old, no matter what your biological age. Forget what the calendar is telling you, forget your chronological age, these things are the least important issues. You can be young at ninety or old at thirty. I have met people many times who have proved this to be true. For example I can remember an incident concerning my mother; she was at
that time ninety years young. I took her to buy a dress but the salesperson kept
showing her old dark styles. My mother became very quiet and finally, with a
merry twinkle in her eye, said, ‘These dresses are for old people. Would you
show me something smart and attractive please.’ She meant what she said but
had a mischievous smile on her face. My mother was still young at heart and always bright-eyed and enthusiastic
about life and living, although her life had not been easy. She had been widowed
twice and lost her only son to leukaemia in his tenth year. People look at the calendar or watch their birthdays go flying by and
start to get panic-stricken. They get caught up in the general way of thinking,
that the years are slipping by. Because the calendar is showing a certain age, a
lot of people feel obliged to act accordingly. If anyone dares to act
differently to their chronological age there is always someone to look down
their nose and point out the error of their ways. Never let anyone stop you from
being yourself and enjoying your life as you see fit, as long as that is within
the laws of the land and not harming another. Always be true to yourself and
don't let anyone put you down. We are individuals so stand firm, follow your own
inner guidance and don't let what others say concern you. Keep thinking young, lighten up, let your child out, be spontaneous, alter
your way of seeing things, don't allow yourself to get set in your ways or
become frozen or rigid in your thinking. Always be willing to try something new
or do something in a new way. Challenge life and meet the challenges life throws
at you, head on. When you go out or on a journey take a different route. Who
knows what wonderful adventures you may encounter. Life is for living, right up until your last breath. Life itself can be a
wonderful adventure, if only you will be a participant and not just content to
sit back and be an onlooker. Don't just sit there and watch life passing you by.
Every age can be filled with the joy of living, especially if you are coming
from the point of love. We can be masters of our thoughts or we can let them run riot and control
us. The thoughts we continually think can make a difference; they can make a
hell of heaven or a heaven of hell, the choice is ours alone. So will you be a
master or will you be a slave? It is in our best interest to take full control of our thoughts because
habitual negativity will eventually manifest itself in our bodies as well as in
our lives. As within, so without, our bodies are only the outer picture, the end
results of the way we continually think. Diseases that manifest are the result
of our own wrong thinking. There are no coincidences and no accidents that we
haven't drawn to ourselves; we alone are totally responsible. Please don't at
this point throw down this book and shout ‘Bull-dust!’ Don't look taken back
and don't gasp or say ‘Surely not!’ I hope you can now see just how important it is for us to take full
control of our thought patterns. You don't have to take my word for it either.
Just ask people like Louise Hay, who has written several books, one in
particular called You Can Heal Your Life, in which she lists the
different diseases and the equivalents that wrong thinking and emotions have
caused. She also lists the affirmations to help turn them around. Now before you start repeating a whole lot of empty words that only reach
the conscious mind, stop! The whole idea here is to get it all down into the
subconscious mind. It is said the subconscious mind can be likened to the genie
of Aladdin's lamp fame. It is childlike and has no reasoning powers of its own;
it will only carry out and bring forth into our lives what we feed it through
the conscious mind. Our eyes and ears are always picking up new ideas and
information for good or ill so take your blinkers off and take a good look at
your life. If you don't like what you see, it is within your power to change it,
simply by changing your way of thinking. So take care what you are feeding your
subconscious. Tell it what you want it to do, mainly by way of affirmations.
That is why it is so important not to keep repeating a lot of empty words. To make sure the words have reached the subconscious especially if you are
trying to make alterations in your body, your life, even your finances or
relationships, it is important to work hard at it at first. A really good way to
start is to write them down at least twenty-five times each day, more if you
have the time, for at least a week. Also, stand in front of a mirror and say
them over and over to your reflection, as you go about your daily tasks. When
you think of them, say them. It is not only important to say them it is important to feel them deep inside you. Use your creative imagination to bring what you want into manifestation. Louise Hay was an abused child and all the emotional pain she suffered
finally manifested as cancer. She refused an operation saying that unless she
changed her subconscious mind there would be nothing left of her by the time
they had finished. She is a very evolved lady, she knows the power of love and
forgiveness and knew she had to work within herself. She is now very much alive,
completely healed, and teaching others to overcome through her books. Never give up. I read once of a young Vietnamese girl who was travelling
with her family and a lot of other people on a boat to Australia. Somehow the
boat broke down during a storm and was blown way off course to a very remote
place well away from the trade routes. Because there didn't seem to be anyone
who was able to fix the problem, they were stuck there for many months. She
watched all the others die, one by one, but she never gave up. Every day she
clung to the hope of rescue. She would visualise a boat coming to take her away,
and thought how happy she would be and what she would say. Even when she started
to grow thinner and weaker as the days went by, she still clung her vision. Lo
and behold, quite suddenly some fishing boats decided to go to that location.
They got there just in time to help her. She found out later it was a spur of
the moment decision. This is a true story. If she ever reads this I hope she won't mind me
using it to inspire others. Hopefully none of us will ever be faced with a
situation as dire as that but if we are, we just need to hang in there and never
give up. That is the only way to go. This shows you just how powerful we really are when we set our minds to
it. James Redfield, in his book The Secrets Of Shambhala, tells us that
we as individuals can make a difference, not only to our lives but to Planet
Earth as well. We do have the power, especially if it is aligned with love. Thought always precedes action, even if the two appear to be simultaneous.
Humans are thinking beings. There is not a moment in time when we aren't
thinking. Inner dialogue is always happening, even in sleep. Believe it or not,
for good or evil, our thoughts are not just our own. They are a powerful force
that move into the atmosphere and join the combined collective thinking of
others to form what is known as the collective or race consciousness. This is an
influence that can affect not only our own lives but the lives of everyone on
Planet Earth. You don't have to take my word for this, just think of telepathy
to know that thoughts are picked up by others on a subconscious level. We all
have this ability only some have developed it more than others. The U.S. and
Soviet governments have both experimented with this concept. Also remember the
hundredth monkey. You can see now just how important it is to take full control of your
thinking, to always think happy, positive thoughts. It is especially important
to take control of any fearful thoughts you may be holding on to. Get rid of
them quickly or like Job in the Bible they may come back to haunt you. When we
allow ourselves to become fearful, just imagine what we are doing to our bodies.
We break out in a cold sweat, the hair on the back of the neck stands up, we
tremble and shake, and in extreme cases can faint or have all sorts of other
negative reactions. So ask yourself, is it worth it? Try to overcome all fear
and send out nothing but kind and loving thoughts. Not only because we all want
to be loved but most of all for self-preservation. I read once of a widow who had a son. He was her only child and he loved
to play football. She didn't want him to play because of her fears. She always
worried about him but especially when he was on the field playing. She was
constantly sending out all these negative vibrations. Unfortunately she wasn't
helping either of them. Living with her, the young man was picking up all this
negativity. Well of course the inevitable happened: he was very badly injured in
a freak accident that should never have happened. Her fears had certainly come
home to roost. What we give power to and believe in our deepest being will eventually
manifest in our lives so put all your energy into something you would like to
see happen. Please don't waste precious time and energy worrying. Worry is
something none of us can afford, the price is too high. It never helps or solves
anything but merely compounds it, as you are only giving the situation more
power. So loosen and let go all worry and fear. If you find yourself starting to
worry and your gut is getting all twisted up in great knots - stop! Sit down,
take several deep breaths. On the out breath imagine all the tension going with
it. As you start to feel a little calmer try to still the mind. Now think of
something you would like to see happen, replace the fear with something
positive. If you or someone you love is sick or in some kind of trouble don't let
yourself get caught up in the problem. Use your imagination to change the
scenario. If someone is sick see that person as you would like them to be -
whole and perfect, going about their daily lives doing the things they like to
do. Surround them with white light and send them lots of love. If the problem is
something else, do the things mentioned above to become calm, then sit quietly
and use creative visualisation to see things as you would like them to be.
Surround the situation with white light and send lots of love, say a heartfelt
thanks to the Powers That Be then say ‘And so it is’ - Amen. By doing this, you will have done more good than all the hand-wringing,
worry and fear could ever have hoped to accomplish. It will make you feel good,
that you have taken charge and used your power in a positive way and not let the
fear and worry take it away from you. You have not only helped the person or
situation, you have helped yourself as well by staying calm and in control. The next step to knowing and using the power within you is to become as
still as possible and listen with your inner ear. If you can become still enough
you may even get an immediate message. Perhaps an idea will come into your mind
telling you of something practical you can do. In the case of illness it may
suggest something you need to do like consult another doctor or an alternative
practitioner, take a herbal tea, or even ask a friend for help. While you waste
time and energy in panic you may miss an important message. Don't forget, even a
child can pick up anxiety and take a turn for the worse. If it is something else
that is troubling you, the answer is the same: be still and listen. It won't be
easy at first but it will get easier as you put these concepts into practice.
I'm sure you have felt it yourself. When we have done something positive about a
situation, there is a mental shift for the better; we seem to be able to release
a lot of the anxiety and start to relax. So try to keep tabs on the conscious thoughts you are thinking at all
times. This can be a bit hard sometimes because negative thoughts can be a
little sneaky and get past our guard without us being aware. We can also still
have a lot of forgotten stuff stored over from childhood that hasn't been dealt
with. This in itself can be causing havoc with our minds, bodies, emotions or
with life in general. A good way to find if this is the major factor that is
causing a lot of big problems for us, be they in any area of our life, is to
take careful note of our reactions to places, people, things or situations, even
something written in a book. Relax, become still, and ask yourself, why am I
reacting this way? Get yourself into a meditative state and ask the Universal
Mind to give you the answer. Expect to receive it. If you don't get an immediate answer don't be concerned, simply stay
alert, and keep your eyes and ears open. Perhaps ask someone who may know, or
try having an inner dialogue with yourself. The answer may come through feelings
or something you hear someone say. You may read something in a book or
newspaper, even a magazine. If something jumps out at you and grabs your
attention, stop and look deeper, it could be the answer you are looking for.
When we become more aware we will find the answer that is right for each one of
us as individuals. Think carefully because what is right for one may not be
right for another. You don't have to copy what someone else is doing, so seek
your own answers. When we become more aware we can take charge of our thinking and see our
lives as we want them to be. Never forget we are not victims, we are masters of
our thoughts and therefore our life's path. We are certainly not leaves to be to
be scattered about by every adverse wind that blows. We have the power within us
so let us use it to the fullest of our ability. Love and forgiveness are really the only answers. Jesus came to teach us
this simple yet very complex message. Unfortunately his words have been twisted
and misconstrued by so many, in so many ways, so many times, they have become
almost unrecognisable. He came to teach us how to live, certainly not how to
die. He taught us life is eternal, it is a never-ending process. He came to show
us there is no death; only the body dies, the soul lives on to be renewed time
and time again. He taught us to love one another as we love
ourselves, do good to those who
hate us and despitefully use us, to turn the other cheek. He wasn't speaking
literally here, what He was telling us was not to retaliate or seek revenge, or
send back hate, because He knew more hate only compounds the situation instead
of healing it. When we give ourselves time to think things through and let our anger
cool, when we try to react from the point of love and forgiveness, we are able
to help neutralise all that hate and animosity and make it a win- win situation
for all concerned. If we try to see the other person’s point of view we may be
able to find out just where they are coming from, what is making them hurt so
badly that it is making them act the way they are. Thereafter act with love,
understanding and forgiveness towards them. No matter how bad it seems we can
look for a common ground and try not to react negatively. I'm not saying it will
be easy, something worthwhile is rarely easy. But if we can do it the rewards
are great, especially to ourselves. It makes us feel years younger as that heavy
load is lifted and released. I suppose by now you are asking yourself just what all this has to do with
reversing aging. When we can act and react with love, we are doing ourselves a
great favour. By allowing ourselves to act negatively we are throwing our body
systems out of gear, mentally, physically, emotionally, even spiritually. To
learn to react with love and forgiveness is the first step to reversing aging.
We are being most kind to ourselves and our bodies will certainly thank us. A
wise person once said it is not what happens to us in life, it is how we react
to it. As I've already said, as we learn to react positively the greater the
rewards. The more love and forgiveness we can send out the more we will attract
back to us and the younger we will look and feel. When we can release all that
negative garbage most of us tend to carry on our backs and shoulders, the
lighter and happier we will feel. We will feel as though a great load has been
shifted and has gone. Stress, strain, hate and unforgiveness show on our faces
and in our bodies. It is said we have the face we were born with until our forties, after
that we get the face we deserve. So the choice is ours alone. If we allow
ourselves to love and forgive unconditionally every person, place, thing and
situation, it will certainly show on our faces and bodies. The really great news is it is never too late to make the changes, to turn things around and start to reverse aging. You will feel the difference immediately and in a short time you will begin to show the difference. Love will shine through and give your face a wonderful glow. Your steps will start to have a spring in them. As you start to show and feel the difference your renewed spirit will give a lift to your mind and body. |
